The Wargaming and Role-Playing Society (W.A.R.S.) is dedicated to promoting tabletop gaming while fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. Mighty Boards was formed in 2016 through a collaboration between part of the team behind Posthuman (originally called Mighty Box) and the studio behind Days of Ire (formerly Cloud Island). Some of the minds involved in this extraordinary merger were senior academics in games, philosophy, and the visual arts, with a few boasting a shadowy past in the AAA video game industry. These seasoned professionals have consulted and designed for titles like The Witcher (Gwent and Thronebreaker) and Cyberpunk 2077.

Operating from different locations across Europe, this eclectic team united with one purpose: to bring imaginative worlds to life through cardboard, cards, and tokens. Together, they share a dedication to quality, beauty, and creativity.

In 2021, what some describe as a rare cosmic event caused the entire team to be pulled into an interdimensional vortex. Mighty Boards now functions as a unified entity in a single office, located in an exclusive velvet-lined pocket outside spacetime. From here, they enjoy breathtaking views over both the known and unknown multiverse. While unconfirmed sightings of the team have mainly occurred on the limestone streets and sun-soaked beaches of Malta, they are also known to astral-project into board game conventions from time to time.

The cosmic energy from their unique location, combined with their diverse academic and game development backgrounds, fosters a fertile environment for exceptional creativity.
